Loss Prevention

Whether it is dealing with robbery, aggressive people, employee theft, electronic crime, or credit card, financial and data fraud, every retailer can protect their profits through proactively ensuring they have the best protective strategies in place.

Retail Council of Canada offers retail-specific resources for loss prevention, operations, and IT/data professionals, HR executives, audit practitioners and privacy lawyers to learn best practices, share ideas and network.

RCC ALERT: Be on the lookout for gift card scams

Retailers need to be on the lookout for potential gift card scams. Before selling gift cards, your teams should make sure the packaging is intact and that the PIN is not exposed. If a tampered card is spotted, it should NOT be sold. Gift card fraud should be reported to your local police agency, or if you believe you have been victimized, to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
